Given a circumstance where a patient approaching dialysis or on dialysis, has a live kidney donor available, but that kidney donor is unsuitable for the patient, the pair may participate in the Paired Kidney Donation Program.

That program allows the patients and their donor pairs to exchange kidneys anonymously.

In the ACT, one pair has participated and exchanged successfully.
